Anheuser Busch Bought by InBev

Quote: "LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Anheuser-Busch Cos. recommended a $52 billion takeover bid by InBev, a deal that will create the world's largest beer maker and transfer ownership of the legendary U.S. company to the Belgian-Brazilian giant.

The new company, to be called Anheuser-Busch InBev, would have had net sales of about $36.4 billion in 2007. Anheuser-Busch and InBev sell about 300 brands, including Anheuser's Budweiser and Bud Light and InBev's Stella Artois and Beck's.

Both boards have approved the terms and InBev has arranged financing for the deal, they said.

St. Louis will be North American headquarters for the new company, while InBev Chief Executive Carlos Brito will take the top post at the combined company.

The new board will include InBev's current directors plus Anheuser-Busch President and CEO August Busch IV and one other current or former Anheuser-Busch director, they said.

The deal, announced by the companies in a statement late on Sunday, marks the probable end of what many expected to be a prolonged takeover drama.

The companies said they expect the deal to generate cost synergies of $1.5 billion a year annually by 2011. The move should be neutral to earnings in 2009 and add to profit in 2010.

But InBev and Anheuser don't overlap much across the globe, so cost cuts from combining staffing and brewing operations may be harder to achieve than in other major beer-industry deals.

Anheuser and its predecessor companies have been led by members of the Anheuser or Busch families for most of the past 156 years.

In Brussels trade, InBev shares climbed 3.4%, extending an advance made Friday when news of the improved offer leaked out.

In light trade in Frankfurt, Anheuser-Busch shares moved further toward the $70 mark, rising to $67.62. ..."

Isn't that amazing! Over the last week, I have been listening to the news, and the wonder was whether or not they were going to get aken over.

In fact, it was my understanding that AB, had issued a law suit to try to stop the take over...

I wonder how that is going to affect the image of Budweiser, afterall, they were made in the US and they built their brand on the made in America image.

Now that Bud is owned by a European Company, what about the clydesdales? and all the St louis stuff?

Seems like the global economy is really taking hold of things now... The question is, how is it going to change the US?

We are or were the worlds largest and most power ful country... but we are now in recession, our dollar is weak, our countries finances are poor, and our growth is slowed...

Is it time for another to take over as the Worlds most powerful...China? India?

Wanted Movie Review

Tonight we went to see the movie Wanted. I heard it was a good movie and I wasn't really sure what to expect. My wife wanted us to see it, as I actually wanted to see some of the other movies but I've heard what the heck. The movie starts off with the character Wesley who's living in a dead-end job and his wife are sorry that his wife his girlfriend is screwing his best friend and he hates his boss. You really can't figure what to do with his life.

Then the movie switches to some guy who is assassinated.

We switch back to Wesley who still hates his life and somehow ends up getting recruited by a character played by Angelina Jolie. He's than recruited to be an assassin and actually follow in his father's footsteps, who is the person we watched it killed in the beginning.

The movie continues to go on and the premise is really about Wesley getting trained to become an assassin.

Watching Wesley getting trained to be one assassin was actually pretty funny. I enjoyed watching how the different characters trained him and how he reacts to his training. Finally he gets trained and he's done and he's given his assignment. It's some random person that he doesn't know. He questions why he should be killing people.

Angelina Jolie's character convinces him that sometimes you have to do things on faith. The movie continues on and we eventually find out that the person he was told to kill, is actually ends up being his father. I know I'm probably oversimplifying this but I thought the movie was asked a pretty good there was a lot of action we the story was well and basically it goes down to the question about people living in dead-end life less jobs and find a purpose. The last line of the movie is," So what the funk are you doing?", and that's a good question. The question that we all need to ask ourselves or what are we doing, and what we do with our lives.

Just Saw Walk Hard last night my movie review

I had been looking forward to seeing Walk Hard. I was waiting for it to come outon DVD so I could watch it, and I finally got it.

So my wife cut into a lazagna I had cut and sit in to watch. I have to say that it wasn't roll over lauging funny, but I thought that it was humorous. It was a total spoof on the kinds of movies about music stars.

Actaully a spoof on the Johhny Cash movie. I cant recall what it was called right now.

Anyway, there were some really corny scenes, but I was surprised at how the guy that played dewey cox can sing. Unless he was dubbed over, his voice is acutally pleasant.

Now, there is drug talk and sex talk, and nudity....can you say shocker! They even showed a mans genitals on the movie. Im now thinking I may have gotten an unedited directors cut or somethihg.

The cinematograpy was very nice, and the costume and set desgin aslo. Looked very realistic to the different time periods.

When you watch the movie, you will notice that it appears that the entire cast of SNL is in this movie. They are all playing characters.

Not to mention all the diferent SNL stars, there are tons and tons of actor cameos.

Jack Black is in the movie, Paul Rudd, and tons otheres I can't even name right now, but you sit there going "hey, thats so and so."

There was a beatles scene in India which I thought was the funniest, and it was teh scene with Jack Black and Paul Rudd Playing the beatles.

I actually didn't finish watcing the movie, but I plan on finisheing it out this evening.

Okay now, gotta run off to work!

Later.

Today I totally overate, or is that everyday?

This morning I woke up already full from last night. My wife had a birthday party last night, and we had tons of food. We ate poke, chicken steak, and I had lost of beer. I think I had 3....Well, 3 for me is pretty good since it was a work night.

So we got home, and I needed to make this lazagna for a photo shoot for work, and I had to taste some fo it. By the end of that, I was totally full.

In themorning, I went to 7-11 and had a soda and a manapua for breakfast, then went to go pick up the cookies for hte photo shoot from Rick.

he made these new cookies, and they looked great and tasted good. So I ate them, well actaullly only one, but they are rich, and had lots of calories.

Then, I get to the shoot, and as I make all the food, I need to taste it to make sure it s good.

Now Im really full.

then we have a guest chef doing part of the shoot, and I need to taste her grilled meatloaf with mushroom gravy.

She leaves, then I do my shoots, and then I eat the lazagna because I need to see what it tastes like the day later...btw, I neeed to fix the recipe because it ws a little dry and bland.

Next, I turn around and the photographer is ordering pizza!

So I have a slice...I have to be nice you know....cant just not eat.

Anyway, Im back at home, and I feel like I have a lead ball in my stomach.

And to top it off, I have been sittiing at a computer all day and for days..

My metabolism is in the tank and I am getting pretty fat.

I need to cool it!

Anyone else have that problem?

Welcome to Mister Gopher....

I actually wanted this post to be called be the ball...one of my favorite movie quotes. But alas, someone else already took the name, so I am left with Mister Gopher.

But you know what, that could actually be cool...since mister gopher was Bill Murray's nemsis, and ended up winning the war in Caddy Shack anyway!

So, This is my first post, and Im looking for to talking about whatever the heck is on my mind, and what ever the heck is around me.

I hope I don't offend anhone, but heck, everyone has enemies right?

Anyway...

enough rambling.

I just wanted to get off this quick post, and then Im going to hit the bed...

It was my girls birthday today, so I took her out to breakfast...early like 5am, and ended up meeting with friends this evening.

Got home about midnight...so Im pooped.

Im out, so we'll talk more tomorrow!

Gopher....
